THE LOST CHORD (Moncton NB/ Toronto ON, Canada), a founding member of The Canadian Music Cooperative™, is a collaborative project led by Moncton producer-composer Louis Marc Vautour. Founded by Vautour, Jason Perreira, Jason Kinney and Kevin Mcintyre (no, the other Kevin Mcintyre) in 1993 out of Moncton High School during a staging of The Wall, the project has taken on multiple incarnations across decades, moving through Toronto’s indie scene and back to New Brunswick in 2017. Its sound blends alternative/indie and psychedelic colors with world music textures drawn from Arabic, African and Hindustani music, often tracked via traditional analog workflows to emphasize warmth and weight. Over the years The Lost Chord has featured dozens of rotating contributors including Alex Berry, Alex Bovoletis, Cosima Grunsky, Michael Craig, Nick Zubeck, Brian MacMillan, Cedric Therriault, Redmond Kang, Jocelyn Blanchette and many more. Their first full length album "Carpe Diem" was released in January 1995, followed by the albums "Mentally Confused and Prone To Wandering" and "Confessions of a Hope Fiends" in 2003. In 2006 the band released their self titled "The Lost Chord" at a grand spectacle at the old Equity Showcase Theatre in downtown Toronto, featuring the Running River Orchestra, which was released as a live DVD "The Lost Chord LIVE". The group released the album Nostalgia in 2013—featuring the single “Lambspring”—and has showcased original material such as “Missius” live in Toronto. The Lost Chord continues as a studio-forward collective under Vautour’s direction in Moncton, expanding its roster of collaborators while developing new releases within The MUSIC COOP™/Canadian Music Cooperative ecosystem.

NOSTALGIA (2013) After the departure of Cosima Grunsky from the band in 2009, The Lost Chord went through several lineup changes until Louis Marc Vautour met fellow Monctonian, singer Alex Berry, while working in Toronto. They began collaborating on new material and conceived their next album, "Nostalgia" as a tribute to the music scenes of Moncton in the 1990s and Yorkville in the 1960s. This album would also see the return of Michael Craig on vocals to the lineup. The album was very well received by critics, and was in heavy rotation on national radio and was featured on the Second Cup playlist. This would be the last album The Lost Chord made in Toronto before relocating to Moncton in 2017.

Produced by Louis Marc Vautour in Louis' bedroom using an M-Audio 6 channel interface and a RØDE NT1. Mastered by Phil Demetro at Lacquer Channel Mastering. Album artwork by Colin C. Berry.
